And a Pair o’ Pants Full of an Eyeful

Is it me – it absolutely could be just me – or did Chris Martin pull a bit of a Jon Hamm yesterday, during the kick off in New Jersey of Coldplay’s “A Head Full of Dreams Tour”?

You know what I mean. You know exactly what I mean.

Anyway....

Baby Antagonist

Make room for a man, Ansel Elgort.

Jon Hamm has signed on to join the actor-turned-DJ/producer in director Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, a thriller about a young getaway driver who listens to the beat of his own personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. Until he is forced to work for a crime boss and has to deal with a heist gone wrong.

The Emmy-winning Mad Man will play said crime boss.

Like a boss, natch.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ Lily James is also on board.

Leaving Little to the Imagination

Pulling a Jon Hamm Alert!

Scott Eastwood, dude – ya gotta wear underwear/never wear underwear under your swim trunks, Scott Eastwood.

You are making this too easy/kinda hard.

That is, not to be inappropriate, of course.

Tee hee.

No More Hamm for Her

Way to sneak in under the gun, Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt!

Evidently, the couple wanted in on the summer of the splits – #SplitsSummer? – and, thus, announced yesterday that they are going their separate ways after an 18-year partnership.

Whaddya gonna do, right?

Caitlyn’s Courageous Moment

The ESPY Awards were on last night....

A bunch of sportspeople were on hand to have their deservedly earned moment in the spotlight, but they were controversially upstaged by the It reality star du jour: Caitlyn Jenner.

Following an almost-14-minute tribute narrated by Jon Hamm, a clad-in-a-crisp-white-gown Jenner (f.k.a. Bruce Jenner) was honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, and girlfriend addressed the controversy surrounding the kudos head on. Acknowledging that she owes plenty to sports, including her ability to weather any storm (especially one full of criticisms), the erstwhile Olympian told “the people out here wondering what this [getting the award] is all about, whether it’s about courage or controversy or publicity, I’ll tell you what it’s all about: It’s about what happens from here.

“It’s not about one person, it’s about thousands of people. It’s not just about me. It’s about all of us accepting one another. We’re all different and that’s not a bad thing – it’s a good thing.”

She further asked that folks offer just one vital thing to the trans community: their respect, and.... Oh, heck, just watch Jenner in action. She does a much better work of expressing herself than I could ever do relating what she said to ya:

Powerful stuff, no?

Update: Oh jeez.

Did you catch the ill-advised Instagramming that director Peter Berg took time to get into regarding Caitlyn Jenner and her getting this award? I didn’t get to see it yet, but I’m pretty sure he reposted a meme in which someone crassly contrasted his journey and achievement to merit the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs and that of a wounded soldier.

Berg’s apologized for it – go on and GTS if you care – and tell me that he doesn’t kinda sorta have a point. Jenner’s contribution is palpable and commendable, and while Berg has clarified that he does respect her and believes in equality and trans rights, we all also should probably spend a little more celebrating those who like, you know, fight for our freedom....

Food for thought all around.

High Wire Man

Life post-Mad Men’s looking good for Jon Hamm.

The Golden Globe winner has lined up a political action thriller from writer-director Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton, The Bourne Ultimatum) titled High Wire Act as one of his gigs to follow up his hit AMC show.

Betcha the all-female Ghostbusters will be another.... Kristen Wiig’s gonna need herself a stud to smooch on, after all.

But I digress.

Brad Anderson (The Call, Transsiberian) will direct the 1980’s-Beirut-set story, which will have Hamm as a former U.S. diplomat who is called back into service to save an old colleague from the group that may have done in his own family in the past.

Hamm On the Mend

Golden Globe winner Jon Hamm is living proof that you can do private in Hollywood.

The Mad Man reportedly has received treatment for an alcohol addiction (with the support of his longtime gf, Jennifer Westfeldt).

Hamm’s publicist has confirmed that the actor checked himself into a Connecticut hospital at the end of last month, and, of course, has asked for privacy and sensitivity for the guy moving forward.

Good for him, huh.

Wet Hot American Hamm

The Wet Hot American Summer revival courtesy of Netflix just scored a big piece of Hamm.

Ha!

All kidding aside, Jon Hamm is joining original cast members including Elizabeth Banks, Bradley Cooper, and Amy Poehler on the upcoming new eight episodes that, actually, will be available for streaming this summer.

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp will serve as a prequel-sequel to the 2001 cult hit, since it will chronicle what went down on the first day of a fictional Jewish summer camp in 1981 (the film centered on the events of the camp’s last day).

Hamm will play a secret spy (!), while Kristen Wiig and Chris Pine – oh yeah, they are both boarding the project as well – will portray a snobby counselor at a rival camp and...someone really, really hot (the details of Pine’s part remain a secret for now), respectively.

Now puts your hands up – if ya goin’ to camp this summer.

I know I is.

Watch What Happens...When Andy Cohen Pulls a Jon Hamm

Hey there, Andy Cohen. Hey.

Look at the Bravo man, pulling a bit of a Scott Disick Liev Schreiber Daniel Craig Henry Cavill Justin Theroux Jon Hamm like he just don’t care while walking his dog in New York City yesterday.

So, again I say.... Hey, Andy. Hey....

Good For You, Kourtney Kardashian

So, Scott Disick seems to have a big one.

We know this now because Kourtney Kardashian’s main man pulled a Jon Hamm while walking around Calabasas, Calif., yesterday.

In his pajama pants.

He may be a white boy – but, clearly, Disick’s got what ’em Kardashians girls like.

In Search of Raw Talent

Jon Hamm is ready to be seen.

So the Mad Man is letting Disney show him off (no, not in that way).

Next spring Hamm will be starring in his first big leading-man silver-screen role in Million Dollar Arm, the Jerry Maguire-ish story of sports agent-cum-reality show creator J.B. Bernstein, whose show, Million Dollar Arm, chronicled his search for promising baseball talent in India’s cricket community.

Here’s to hoping the movie – co-starring Alan Arkin, Lake Bell, and Life of Pi’s Suraj Sharma – is a total home run.

Jeez, Liev!

I think Liev Schreiber likes my kind of attention.

Yeah, right.

But really, let’s get real: He knows I appreciate this look he pulled while on holiday with his family in Australia earlier this week, right?

Right!

I mean, I have had this discussion.

Finally, I must say that, while I cannot suggest the guy is pulling a Jon Hamm, for he is at the beach, I must ask (no, I do not!): To the right, to the right?

Incorrigible.

The Hamm That Keeps On Givin’

Jon Hamm is such a baller.

Yeah – a free-baller.

There the actor was on the set of AMC’ Mad Men’s final season earlier this week when he got papped, much to his chagrin, lettin’ it all hang out the way he likes (and, obviously, needs).

Nothing to be ashamed of, big guy.

Clearly.

I See Little Dan, Daniel Craig!

Men will be men.

And just like Justin Theroux and Jon Hamm before him, Daniel Craig gave into the joys of letting it all hang free and loose while taking a walk in New York this week.

Thanks for giving us a sight while taking in the sights, man.

Hot Tub Time Machine

So, yeah, I guess hot tubs are totally having a moment right now.

Not only have Ian Somerhalder and Robert Pattinson channeled the duckies within, so have Daniel Radcliffe and Jon Hamm.

Together.

For a project now – don’t let your mind wander.

The actors got into a (very nice) tub for their new miniseries A Young Doctor’s Notebook (Radcliffe plays a younger version of Hamm’s character – or is it the other way around? – so this isn’t a sexy-time moment...it’s a moment of self-reflection).

You may check out the trailer now, and then make sure to look for Ovation in your cable situation ’cause that’s where you’ll be able to watch the four episodes that made up the show’s first season.

Get!

Pullin’ a Jon Hamm, Too, Henry Cavill?

Just like Justin Theroux did last week, I think Henry Cavill has pulled a Jon Hamm.

There the Man of Steel was, hiking in L.A. with his new girlfriend, Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco (lucky gal!), when, going by the photographic evidence, his Mr. Cavill inched out for his own close-up.

Oh, the thoughts in my head right now....

Pullin’ a Jon Hamm, Justin Theroux?

Uh, am I seeing things, or did Justin Theroux pull a Jon Hamm while on location for his HBO pilot The Leftovers yesterday?

Just focus your attention on the center of the pic.

Right?!

U.N.C.L.E. Man No More

So. It looks like Tom Cruise will not be the Man from U.N.C.L.E. after all – he’s got a fifth Mission: Impossible to take on.

Indeed, since the actor is putting on a fifth time as Ethan Hunt (yippee!), Cruise has had to bow out of starring in the long-gestating Guy Ritchie-directed adaptation of the 1960s NBC show.

Cruise is a producer on the forthcoming fifthquel, so, ya know...bee-say. He has to prep the thing, find a director, etc.

Lone Ranger star Armie Hammer, who joined the U.N.C.L.E. project last month, remains attached to it, though.

Perhaps they should let him have it. Or give it to Jon Hamm? Just spitballin’ here.

Mo’ Package, Mo’ Problems

As of late, it seems like Jon Hamm’s penis has been on everybody’s lips.

Ha! See what I did there?

I mean, of course, that just about every other perv starf---er – guilty! – out there is taken by how, well...hung the star of AMC’s Mad Men seems to be (thank you for the evidence of his...uh...brilliance, paparazzi!).

His camp has gone on record to voice its displeasure with people’s unwavering intent to make it a big issue of his endowment. To which I say if the issue’s shorts fit....

And, now, so has Hamm himself. Come out to say it is tacky to talk about it, that is.

Of his penis, that is.

“Most of [what is said]’s tongue-in-cheek, but it is a little rude,” the actor has told Rolling Stone, before adding that that situation down there is referred to as private because it is, and that folks should simply “lay off.”

Well, OK, I see your penis point, sir, but if you go out on the streets free-balling, then you are kinda putting it out there and making it dick season fair game, dontcha think?

At least the guy is good-humored about the whole thing and in on the joke, I guess. Not that he has much of a choice, unfortunately.

“Whatever. I guess it’s better than being called out for the opposite.”

Atta big boy!

What...a Nice, Big, Alluring Problem to Have

Jon Hamm has got to cover up his ham.

Given that the actor’s manhood tends to stick out – it’s just such a spotlight-hog – the powers that be at AMC’s Mad Men reportedly have asked him to, please, start wearing tight underwear.

Party poopers.

Why?

Something about the upcoming sixth season of the show taking place in the ’60s, an era of tight clothes that lends itself rather nicely for games of spotting of the package.

Although the, uh, problem has been ongoing.

The actor’s camp, btw, is not happy with the penis goss. They think it’s childish, and, essentially, that it pulls focus from the most important aspect about Hamm: his talent.

Which, come to think of it, is exactly we are totally talking about, so I don’t see why the big whoop.

Mad Men comes back to the tube on April 7.
