Darker Will Be In

Ready for another go?

Better be, ’cause here comes Fifty Shades Darker, starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson.

I, of course, am talking about the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey, the sort of hit of Valentine’s Day 2015. The movie’s first Miguel-infused trailer – he covers Beyoncé“Crazy In Love” this time around – hit the Internet today, and things are looking like they gon’ get steamy and dramatic, yo.

All over again.

First of all, Johnson’s Anastasia Steele appears to have taken back Dornan’s Christian Grey. Secondly, they’ve RSVPd Yes to an orgy that requires black tie, a silky gown (grey, natch), and masks à la Eyes Wide Shut. And, finally, a couple of women from Christian’s past – hey there, Kim Basinger and Bella Heathcote – pop into the scene, seemingly prepared to mess with Ana’s head and, probably, her life.

Yeah, yeah – but where is Tyler Hoechlin? Hello! Give the people what they want!

Fifty Shades Darker is scheduled to arrive in theaters on Feb. 10, a year before the trilogy-wrapping Fifty Shades Freed.

Not as Batman But as Superman

Remember how, a few years ago, before Ben Affleck nabbed his Batman role, Tyler Hoechlin was said to be in the mix to be cast as the Caped Crusader?

Well I do, and that’s why I think this is kinda awesome, in a self-fulling kinda way.

Hoechlin – who was recently at the movies with Everybody Wants Some!! – is going to suit up as a superhero, after all, to play Clark Kent/Superman on Supergirl, which is flying from CBS to The CW for its second season this fall.

The character will make his debut on the show when he turns up in National City to visit his cousin Kara (Melissa Benoist).

More Author For Ya

Wow. Fifty Shades Darker got really a lot sexier and enticing this week.

Tyler Hoechlin has been tapped to play Boyce Fox in the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel. A minor character in the E L James novels, the role of a rising author who signs with Christian Grey’s (Jamie Dornan) publishing company has been expanded for the screen, ergo the casting of the Teen Wolf star.

Meanwhile, Eric Johnson (Cinemaxs The Knick) also has boarded the February 2017 follow-up, as an editor trying to pressure Dakota Johnson’s Anastasia Steele into a sexual relationship (what is it about that girl, anyway?) and, thus, as a man who becomes Christian’s enemy.

And finally, Brant Daugherty (Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars) is going to feature in the trilogy-capping Fifty Shades Freed, as Luke Sawyer, a bodyguard that Christian hires to take care of Anastasia.

Wolfing Out

I don’t watch MTV’s Teen Wolf – but I do enjoy me some Tyler Hoechlin, so here it goes.

The actor’s stepping away from the show and will not be a regular cast member during the upcoming fifth season of the show, which is premiering in June.

Hoechlin reportedly asked his powers that be to be allowed to try new things – a.k.a., leave the show, at least temporarily. So while this isn’t a “complete goodbye” kind of situation, his character will not be part of the action this summer, and the door is open for him to return down the line.

Up to Bat

Richard Linklater is going to follow up Boyhood with a story about several boys.

Thats What I’m Talking About.

No, that’s the title of the project, but, yeah...y’ know.

Linklater has recruited Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin for one of the parts in the film, a baseball-themed story set in 1980 and centering on a college freshman who moves into a baseball house on campus.

Blake Jenner (TV’s Glee) and 22 Jump Street’s Wyatt Russell also have been recruited for roles, but, really, to me, it’s all about Hoechlin.

Hot Hoechlin Rumor

Why did I not think about this before?

You know Tyler Hoechlin, right? He was in Road to Perdition, he’s on MTV’s Teen Wolf....

Well, evidently, he is also on a short list to play Batman opposite Henry Cavill in the Man of Steel sequel that will bring both superheroes together.

Woof!

I totally see this guy as Bruce Wayne/Batman (click here for evidence of Hoechlins hotness). Others are thinking Ryan Gosling (I love me some RyGos, but I kinda do not see him as the Caped Crusader at all).

So...why did not think about this before?

Probably because the thought of putting these two together was just too hot handle. It probably stuck me as dangerous on a subconscious level, for movie screens just might melt on us.

Although, to be perfectly honest, I just haven’t gotten around to recasting in my Batman quite just yet. I guess I know Christian Bale was just that good.

What…a Good-looking Wolf

Tyler Hoechlin is all grown up.

I caught a little bit of Road to Perdition while in Denver last month, right, and then I saw I the young actor in one of his most showy scenes and I got to wondering: Where is he?

Well, turns out…he’s at MTV.

Hoechlin will star on the cabler’s Teen Wolf this summer.
