#NicoleRichieBackOnTV

It has been a while since I read anything non-fashion-related about Nicole Richie.

Just last week, actually, I got to thinking girlfriend should like, be on the radio. That like, I would listen to a show that had her on regularly.

But now comes word that Richie has been eyeing a return to TV and that, in fact, VH-1 has given #CandidlyNicole a straight-to-series order, with eight episodes set to debut in July 17.

The show, btw, is so named because it is based on Richie’s AOL online series...which was based on Richie’s Twitter feed.

It’s come to that, folks. But I like her, so OK.

A Chucking Return

Uh oh, Nicole Richie’s up to her old guesting-on-Chuck tricks....

The former Hollywood hellcat pretty much rocked it out when she appeared on the show a couple of years ago, and now comes word that girlfriend will reprise her role as Sarah’s (Yvonne Strahovski) high school nemesis next season.

Meow!

Richie will resurface in October when a prison transfer goes awry and her character ends up being stowed away at Chuck (Zachary Levi) & Co.’s underground CIA base. And since she’s such a bitchin’ troublemaker, she will see that Chuck and Sarah’s deepening relationship is hitting some bumps and will use that rift to her advantage.

What...a beeyotch.

The Scripted Life

Nicole Richie’s quest for mainstream TV domination continues.

Following a well-received guest-starring turn on Chuck a while back, the erstwhile and original Paris Hilton BFF has signed on to star in a comedy pilot for ABC.

Richie
will play a woman with complicated family relationships in the series, which is based on an idea all her own, thankyouverymuch.

Not a Little Bird

Baby pictures brighten any rainy day....

Six weeks after welcoming their first son, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden – along with 22-month-old daughter Harlow – are introducing their baby boy, Sparrow James Midnight Madden.

“I couldn’t be happier,” Richie told People, who got the exclusive to Sparrow’s coming out. “The only thing you want is for your kids to be healthy and happy, and they are. I’m right where I belong.”

And this, starletbots of Hollywood, is how you turn a new leaf.

She Has a Gun, and It’s Hot

You gotta admit: Nicole Richie looks pretty badass at right.

As previously mentioned, Richie, in character as Heather, will guest star in an episode of NBC’s Chuck this fall. She will gun – get it? – for her old high school nemesis Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski), Chuck’s CIA gal pal.

“She was a cheerleader,” Richie
said of Heather. “Kind of that bitchy mean girl.”

It looks like girlfriend has a chip on her shoulder – and I am looking forward to seeing it play out.

The Re-invented Ms. Richie

And she continues to surprise us….

Former reality TV star Nicole Richie (The Simple Life), will guest star this fall on an episode of NBC’s Chuck.

Richie, who has left her wilder ways behind for motherhood and philanthropy, has been tapped to play a “snarky and spiteful girl who tortured” Yvonne Strahovski’s character (Special Agent Sarah Walker) in high school. In the episode, Sarah must face her fears when she is forced to attend her 10-year high school reunion for a mission with costar Zachary Levi’s Chuck as her date.

“Nicole auditioned for the part and was very funny,” said Chuck executive producer Josh Schwartz. “This role is a great opportunity for her to show off her comedic skills and be diabolically evil and kick some butt. It’s going to be really fun.”

I bet.

A Confederacy of Dunces

As a really scandalous summer winds down, many, including Entertainment Weekly in its current cover story, are wondering how it ever came to this…and this…and this.

Details magazine wondered not too long ago whatever happened to the “Hollywood Badass.”

And so I echo: How – and, really, why – were a group of marginally talented, underfed young women able to grab their booze (allegedly), blow (allegedly), and our zeitgeist the way they did?

There are more pressing matters going on, right?

What makes me even more hellaciously upset is these young women are wasting away their talent. Alright, so this only applies to Lindsay Lohan, but you have to admit Nicole Richie’s pretty funny.

I mean, L2’s a bigger mess than Britney Spears, who has managed, so far, to be pulled over but let go. The pop tart is looking like the most capable one of the bunch. As if.

So I offer the following suggestion: Purge the phrases DUI, rehab, and wee hours off your vocabulary, and replace them with home, reading, and working.

A change will do you good.

The Girls Are Back in Town (Together)

At long last, we can all exhale: E! Online reported this morning that Simple Life co-stars Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie ended their 18-month feud over dinner (at a restaurant filled with paparazzi, of course) last night…a dinner that was followed by a more intimate “two-person, multi-dog sleepover” at Hilton’s Hollywood Hills home.

Why is this news? It isn’t – this is news…unless, of course, Hilton used Richie as a toothpick or something – but the reunion is that sexy.
