Jennifer Lawrence loves working with David O. Russell – we all know that.
It seems, though, that the Academy Award winner has a second favorite director: Her Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 helmer, Francis Lawrence. Not too surprising, since the two have worked together since F. Law took over the franchise and delivered The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in 2013.
Anyway, the point is the two Lawrences may be reuniting for Red Sparrow, an adaptation of the Jason Matthews spy novel. David Fincher and Rooney Mara were once meant to collaborate on this project, btw.
Set in modern-day Russia, the story would center on a Russian intelligence officer (J. Law) coping with a post-Soviet Union world...and with being ordered to become a Sparrow (a...ahem...sexpionage expert) in order to spy on the CIA officer handling the agency’s most valuable Russian mole.
