Well that took a while.
Nicole Kidman’s much-maligned Grace of Monaco is finally set to premiere...on Lifetime next month.
The Olivier Dahan-helmed movie has had a tricky road to its American release. If memory serves, the director was keen to go one way with the story, while the picture’s distributor, Harvey Weinstein, had oh-so-specific ideas for it, especially regarding length and whatnot. It all resulted in a clash over final cut and, more tellingly, in a shift from its original December 2013 release date to one last spring. That one was scrapped as well in favor or a glitzy (and controversial) premiere at the Cannes Film Festival last May.
Fret not, though; now, Grace of Monaco will be seen, on Memorial Day, on cable TV.
Not the most fit for a princess, huh – but I guess it will have to do.
