Colin Farrell.
Taylor Kitsch.
Jessica Chastain.
Those are but three of the many names that have made the True Detective Season 2 rumor mill turn when talk turns to casting possibilities. Yet no one knows for sure who will star on the darn thing.
Not yet, anyway.
So the rumor mill keeps a-turnin’.
’Nother couple of people bandied about to take over Emmy nominees Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey on HBO’s critically acclaimed anthology series? Vince Vaughn’s and Elisabeth Moss’.
Vaughn, in fact, has been in the mix just as long as Farrell and Kitsch, and he has a professional relationship with Nic Pizzolatto, the main man behind the show (Pizzolatto, evidently, was writing a big-screen Rockford Files reboot for Vaughn before True Detective hit), while Moss – an Emmy nominee, for AMC’s Mad Men, and a Golden Globe winner, for the Sundance Channel’s Top of the Lake – just became part of the (public) conversation.
Official casting will be announced...when HBO decides to make an announcement.

Update: Uh oh. Nic Pizzolatto found himself standing in the shadow of allegations of plagiarism on Aug. 6.
