She is not giving up on the mid-budget grown-up drama.
The Money Monster star has signed on to headline Train Man, a fact-based drama about a New York man that has been arrested more than 25 times for transit-related crimes (his rap sheet includes impersonating MTA workers to commandeer subway trains and buses – which, you know...ballsy!).
La Roberts will play the man’s – named Darius McCollum – public defender and chief advocate, Sally Butler.
McCollum’s defense always has argued that he has a fixation with trains that can be explained by his supposed Asperger syndrome.
Up next for the Oscar-winning American Sweetheart, though, is Mother’s Day.
