Amell Gets Raw

Stephen Amell has entered the ring.

The star of The CW’s Arrow turned up on WWE Monday Night Raw last night – and he threw down.

Ohyeshedid. Check it:

Amell will get his fight on once more, on Aug. 23, when he and something named Neville take on King Barrett and (no joke) Stardust at SummerSlam.

Straight people, yo.

Abstastic Crossover

Hang on to your knickers, people: We are on High Abs Alert.

Looks like CW regulation hotties Stephen Amell (Arrow) and Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) have been hanging out the last few days, somewhere near a body of water that required that they go shirtless and pic-snapping-happy.

Thank goodness.

They both also have been sharing ’em pics of their vacation, like the one here, while giving shout-outs to Padalecki’s Always Keep Fighting Represent campaign, which he launched to support To Write Love on Her Arms, an organization that supports folks struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicidal thoughts.

This is such an effective way to get the word out.

Enter Casey Jones

Stephen Amell just can’t keep away from the color green.

The Arrow has landed a role among those (green) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the sequel to their  first live-action, Michael Bay-produced cinematic outing. You know, the one co-starring Megan Fox and Will Arnett that came out last year and some made bank.

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, Amell will play Casey Jones, a loner-type who becomes an ally to the turtles and a love interest for Fox’s April O’Neil.

The follow-up is due out next year.

Movember 2014 Is Underway

So.

Who doesn’t like a stache, huh.

It’s that time of the year again, so let’s all see about echoing his sentiment in one way or another and celebrate Movember, just like the abstastic star of The CW’s Arrow, Stephen Amell (pictured here, at right – duh).

That is all.

The Abs of Comic-Con

How do you keep the flame burning for your show as it inches closer and closer to a third season?

Well. If you are Stephen Amell and you’re promoting The CW’s Arrow at Comic-Con, as he was over the weekend, and a fan asks for a look-see at your abstastic goods, you totally oblige.

Now that is some good PR work.

Straight to the DILFhood

Congratulations, Stephen Amell – you are a DILF now!

Indeed, the star of TV’s Arrow and his wife, Cassandra Jean, welcomed their first bundle of joy, a daughter, on Oct. 15.

“[Mavi Alexandra Jean Amell] came in just in time for [The CW’s] Amell Wednesdays,” the actor said in his Facebook announcement (check out that pic of the DILF with his kid watching his cousin Robbie Amell’s hit The Tomorrow People).

Cute!

Of Amells Old and New

This week, The CW is gonna get Amell squared.

Stephen Amell will be back on screen on Oct. 9 with the second season of his hit Arrow, and then, an hour later, his cousin Robbie Amell (he’s the wet blanket on the right in the pic here...the one that did not lose his shirt for the shoot) will make his grand debut on the network with the premiere of the freshman offering The Tomorrow People.

Go ahead and reacquaint yourself with one Canadian hunk while you meet the other, OKRRR.

Enjoy!

Not Pointed In the Direction of Grey

That dear Ian Somerhalder can rest easy: Stephen Amell will not be playing Christian Grey.

The Arrow star may have taken a meeting with the powers that be behind the big-screen adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey – but he will not be starring in it, after all.

“I hope they get the movie made, and I’m sure someone will be excellent in it,” Amell revealed recently. “[But t]hat person will not be me.”

Hear that, Somer-hottie – the part is still yours to lose.

His Sights on Grey

Well, that musta been a fun weekend for Ian Somerhalder.

The star of TV’s The Vampire Diaries has been vocal in his desire to play S&M-happy billionaire Christian Grey, the titular anti-hero of Fifty Shades of Grey. He already has had to deal with the rumor of Chris Hemsworth being in the running, and now, Stephen Amell’s name is also in the mix.

Ah, but lest you think, the Arrow man has dismissed any notion that he has the part.

“I get questions about Christian Grey all the time,” my new favorite Canadian said, noting that he knows the project is not taking off any time soon. And he knows it because, “I had a meeting about it. Long way off.

“I mean, not that long, but not close. I wouldn’t call it long, but I wouldn’t call it close.”

Neither would the powers that be, who recently had to deny, yet again, reports that Emma Watson had signed on to play the book’s heroine, Anastasia Steele, saying that casting has not begun, so there.

Badass in Green

The CW is wasting no time teasing its Green Arrow fall hopeful.

The network has released the first still from Arrow, its retelling of the DC Comics character’s story staring Stephen Amell and Katie Cassidy.

The powers that be are describing the show as “darker” and “harder-edged” than the CW’s previous foray into a superhero’s origins, Smallville.

Now, I didn’t watch that show, really, but I kinda sorta followed it through the chats and whatnot, but I am looking forward to this one.

If anything because of Amell. I mean, GTG (that jaw!). And you’re welcome.

A Green Kinda Hero

Now that Superman has flown The CW, the network is turning to the Green Arrow.

And just to show everyone they mean business, the powers that be masterminding Arrow, a show based on the DC Comics character (which just received a pilot order), already have cast their playboy-by-day-hero-by-night hero.

Bit player (he has been featured on TV’s Vampire Diaries and HBO’s Hung) Stephen Amell (do yourself a solid and GTH!) is graduating to the big time now that he has nabbed the part.

I am quietly optimistically about this one...or, at least, I was, since Greg Berlanti (TV’s Brothers & Sisters) is one of the guys developing the project.

And, also, because Amell’s scorchin’-hot stuff.
