Ready to Colonize

Josh Holloway is ready.

The Lost alumnus is all for a big, splashy return to TV, and he is getting it in the form of the Comic-Con-approved Colony, a new USA Network sci-fi-ish show co-created by his old boss, Carlton Cuse (A&E’s Bates Motel), and co-starring Sarah Wayne Callies (AMC’s The Walking Dead).

The series will revolve around a family living in L.A. after a mysterious foreign” occupation, with the erstwhile Sawyer playing a former FBI agent who agrees to start working with the occupying forces to stop a growing resistance, all in the name of protecting his family and finding one of his young sons.

Heres you first look at Colony, which I am fairly certain is meant to premiere this fall.

Colony Man

Playing the Intelligence game may not have worked out for Lost fan fave Josh Holloway, but that don’t mean the actor has given up on returning to the tube.

Holloway is set to headline Colony, a new family drama/thriller that his former boss Carlton Cuse is working on for the USA Network.

Oscar winning director Juan José Campanella (The Secret In Their Eyes) will be helming the pilot for the show, which will revolve around life in L.A. after a mysterious foreign” occupation, with the erstwhile Sawyer playing a former FBI agent who agrees to start working with the occupying forces to stop a growing resistance, all in the name of protecting his family.

How noble. And potentially kick-ass.

A New and Enhanced Kind of Man

It’s almost here.

What is that?

My, the grand return of Josh Holloway to the tube, of course.

The Lost star is headlining Intelligence, a new show on CBS, about an enhanced U.S. intelligence agent – he has a microchip implanted in his head that allows him to access the entire electromagnetic spectrum – and the great adventures and dangers he encounters along his way.

Co-starring Megan Ohry (whom you probably know as Red on Once Upon a Time) and Marg Helgenberger, Intelligence will debut on Feb. 24 Jan. 7.

Now…cool poster, huh?

Would be a hot one had they not obscured ’em Hollow-abs!

Intelligence Man

Josh Holloway’s finally coming back to TV.

We can breathe now.

The Lost star will star in Intelligence, a drama pilot that CBS is prepping for the fall.

Holloway will play a top U.S. intelligence agent who has a microchip in his head that allows him to access the entire electromagnetic spectrum.

Whatever that means, I just know the guy’s gonna rock my bones doing it.

One of 10?

Josh Holloway is following the action.

And I love him for it.

The Lost and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol star has his pretty green eyes on a part in Breacher, f.n.a. Ten, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam Worthington, and Joe Manganiello.

The action thriller follows 10 crooked DEA agents who start dying one by one after they go bad during a good opHolloway would play the member of the drug cartel the 10 go after.

Agent of Paranoia

Lost star Josh Holloway is following his small Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol role with a Paranoia part.

The actor is set to join Liam Hemsworth in the corporate espionage thriller as an FBI agent keeping a close eye on the young Aussie’s character.

Holloway joins an ensemble that also includes Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, Amber Heard, and Lucas Till.

One of the B Boys

Half of this news bugs me: Lost star Josh Holloway is hard at work on another movie (he
’s featured in this December’s Mission: Impossible fourthquel)...with Chris Brown.

Guess which part ticks me off a little.

Oh, at least Holloway will be coming to a movie near us/me more often.

Production is currently underway on Planet B Boy, which is based on a doc of the same name about a crew of American street dancers training to compete in France’s Battle of the Year International Championships.

I presume Holloway – who is fine, but, you know...no spring chicken – is playing one of the adults in the movie.

And I am just A-OK with that.

The Paintball-gunslinger

Tonight
’s first installment of Community’s two-part season finale promises to be epic because it will feature the return of paintball to the Greendale campus...and an appearance by Lost star Josh Holloway.

The actor will play a super-serious and mysterious paintball player named – how badass is this? – Black Rider.

Click here to find out more about Holloways character, whom the powers that be describe as a “formidable, shadowy threat and as having “the right [kind of] equipment.

You got that right, PTB!

Can it be 8 o’clock, already?

A Smart Spy...If You Know What I Mean

Lost MVP Josh Holloway may be rumored to be returning to TV, or at least wanted to, on a remake of The Rockford Files, but for now he’s headed to the big screen.

The actor is set to reunite with J.J. Abrams, who, of course, was one of the men behind the Island drama, on the Mission: Impossible fourthquel that Brad Bird (The Incredibles) is directing and Abrams is producing for a December 2011 debut.

Holloway has joined a cast led by Tom Cruise that already includes The Town’s Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames.

I hope he gets to bring some of that Sawyer charm to the role...without, you know, making him too Sawyer.

The Mustification of Josh

You best believe that Ryan Reynolds isn’t the only Entertainment Weekly Must: Josh Holloway also deserves to be singled out.

I know – hard but true.

The Lost actor has had a very good year. He’s in the mix of potential candidates for a Best Supporting Actor Emmy for his stellar work on the show’s fifth season, which saw his Sawyer blossom into a romantic hero. He’s a new dad. And, well…he’s Josh frakkin’ Holloway, he of the long hair and gorgeous smile.

It’s obvious why he, like a good 45 SPF, is a must this summer.

Things That Make Some of Us Giddy

Not too long ago, Lost boss Carlton Cuse said at a panel that, “Sawyer has a lot to do this year.”

Added Cuse’s fellow boss on the hit show, Damon Lindelof, “A lot of the focus was on the Oceanic Six last year.... This year we tried to make up for lost time [with Sawyer]. [The character’s portrayer] Josh [Holloway] has been doing amazing work.”

You can say that again. I understand he spends about half of the fifth season’s premiere airing next Wednesday shirtless.

The Power of Josh

It was only a matter of time until Josh Holloway’s hotness permeated magazines across the nation.

Picture it: Me, hitting the gym over the weekend, grabbing a magazine (GQ – can’t remember if Gisele Bündchen or Seth Rogen was on the cover), thumbing though some pages, and then almost falling off the treadmill when I discovered the Lost actor in a Davidoff Cool Water ad spread.

I didn’t know he’d signed on for that.

A senior vice president for Coty Prestige said Holloway’s status as an “icon of masculinity and powerful character…truly embodies the [fragrance’s] values.”

I’ll say.

The ad spread is beyond sexy…and persuasive. And there’s video, too.

What’s to Come

Lost is off the air until – gasp! – April 24, but could you resist running a photo of Josh Holloway if you had the option?

I didn’t think so.

Holloway recently talked with Entertainment Weekly, and revealed that now that he and the rest of the cast know when the show will come to an end (2010), well…he’s a happy camper (with really great hair).

“Now, the story carries everything and we’re just players in it, which I like,” he said. “The writers can be concise. I like that, too.”
