The young Aussie will be seen being all charming as a prince in Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent and he hold his own opposite Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep in The Giver, playing a content young man living in a dystopian future in which, because society fears freedom, all trace of human history has been erased, emotions aren’t a thing, and citizens’ paths are pre-chosen for ’em.
The guy is happy. He doesn’t know any better. That is, until he receives all the memories of history from the titular character (played by Bridges, who had been wanting to bring the 1993 Lois Lowry classic for ages), for whatever reason.
I don’t really wanna know why…I wanna find out come Aug. 15 when The Giver opens in theaters. So, hush, OKRRR.
Let’s just talk about Thwaites’…situation. Nice, right?
