Wedded Wu

Congratulations go out to fashion designer Jason Wu, on his nuptials to longtime partner Gustavo Rangel (the CFO of Wu’s brand).

The couple tied the knot on Friday in Tulum, Mexico.

Diane Kruger, Wu’s BFF, was among the stars in attendance. No Michelle Obama, though – although I’ll bet she sent a little something.

Here’s to a happy and long marriage!

Wud Again

Barack Obama won reelection last November, was inaugurated yesterday the last couple of days...and then MObama wore a second first dress as first lady that was designed by Jason Wu.

’Cause if at first you did succeed, give ’em more of what they liked.

Indeed, just as in 2009, the inspiring, maker-of-a-better-man, eye-rolling (loves it!) Michelle Obama wore another Wu original – a chiffon-and-velvet halter top stunner of a sexy gown (look at that neckline!) – to the Commander-in-Chief’s Ball yesterday, and she dazzled.

And then the first couple danced their second first dance to a cover of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” sung by Jennifer Hudson.

Man does America have a good-looking POTUS and FLOTUS....

You Go, First Couple!

And they danced.

Barack and a beautiful, Jason Wu-clad Michelle Obama had their first dance as POTUS and first lady at last night’s Neighborhood Ball – thank you, Beyoncé – and they looked like a dream come true:

She’s Got the Look

First Lady Michelle Obama can add another title to her résumé: cover girl.

Obama will make history once more next month by becoming only the second president’s wife to appear on the cover of Vogue (the first to do so was Hillary Clinton, in December 2008).

The fashion icon – yeah, I said it – was photographed by Annie Leibovitz at the Hay-Adams Hotel, where the First Family stayed before the Inauguration.

The March issue of the magazine features a cover shot of Obama wearing a magenta dress by Jason Wu, who designed her inaugural gown, and a layout of the first lady in a black dress by designer Narciso Rodriguez.

As for why the fashion bible chose to feature Obama on the cover, editrix Anna Wintour writes, “Change was the clarion call of Barack Obama’s election campaign, though I don’t think any of us at Vogue initially realized that would include the difference that was going to be made by first lady Michelle Obama’s wardrobe.

“It’s inspiring to see our first lady so serene and secure in her personal style.”

And on the cover of Vogue!

She’s Got the Look Again

First Lady Michelle Obama is on the cover of a magazine – the magazine – again: Vogue.

Werk!

Four years after donning magenta Jason Wu for her first striking of the pose, MObama is gracing the fashion bible, bangs and all, this time in blue Reed Krakoff.

Which just got put on the map good, yo.

Inside the magazine, the FLOTUS wears a Michael Kors gown, reportedly pulled from her own closet (as was her cover dress). The president himself makes a cameo in one of the Annie Leibovitz-shot pics, and is on the receiving end of a little good-humored ribbing from his wife, who flat-out tells him that bragging about still having the same pair of khakis “since I was 20” is not a cool thing.

“Michelle’s like Beyoncé in that song,” says Barack Obama in the story, referring to “Upgrade U.” “She upgraded me.”

Fashion meow! I love it.
