I Want a Ride
I don’t much care for roller coasters –like, at all – but if anyone could make me a believer (of sorts), that’d be Robin Thicke.
And he has.
I just simply can't enough of his “Rollacoasta,” featuring Estelle.
You know what I mean, right?

When Estelle Met David Guetta
So, is French DJ David Guetta trying to rule the dance floor or what?
First, he and Kelly Rowland told us what happens “When Love Takes Over,” then he and Akon sang about a “Sexy Bitch,” which is not about Paris Hilton, and then he got “Crazy” with will.i.am.
Guetta’s on a roll, alright, and now he has Estelle singing about “One Love” (which, btw, is the title track of his latest CD).
I gotta feeling that his CD’s gonna be a good one full of fun, dance-y stuff….

Leighton’s Loss Is Estelle’s Win
Last night, Cobra Starship were on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien where they performed their hit, MTV VMA-nominated “Good Girls Go Bad” – sans Leighton Meester, who is featured on the track and its video.
But no, the band and the actress aren’t feuding or anything. I don’t think. She probably was just busy on the New York set of Gossip Girl.
So, Estelle stepped to the beat. That’s what it’s for, after all:
It would’ve been so cool if Meester had been able to be there, though.

She’s Got the Groove, Baby
I talked to Estelle yesterday, for a story in Miami Living magazine’s August issue, and the British hip-hop singer could not have been cooler.
We talked about her childhood, her records, her music – you know, the works.
I made it a point to spend a moment talking about “No Substitute Love,” though, a track off Shine, her sophomore effort.
I really took to the song immediately because of its sample of George Michael’s “Faith.” But once I read the lyrics – “I know it would have been nice if I could have had your body / Knowing that everybody ain’t been with you / but you told me lies you made me give my heart away / but now I know the games you play / And I’m thru with you” – I knew for sure Estelle had the groove, baby.
And there’s nothing better than that.

Come to MIA
Estelle.
Remember that name.
This 28-year-old British Hip-Hop singer-producer is one of the next best things, and you definitely should become acquainted with her sound.
Her new single, “American Boy,” featuring Kanye West and production from will.i.am, off her new album, Shine, seduce-suggests to her intended to, “Take me on a trip, I’d like to go some day. / Take me to New York, I’d love to see L.A. / I really want to come kick it with you. / You’ll be my American Boy.”
She goes on to say, “And no I ain’t been to MIA.”
