Nicki Minaj already has shaken it 4 Robin Thicke, so it makes total sense the two would get “Back Together.”
Which they have. For a song by that title.
Now, this is a Max Martin-produced situation, so beware: it just may get stuck in your head.
“Back Together” will be part of the Thickester’s upcoming Morning Sun album, which is due out later this year.

The Thickester’s New Dawn
Alright, Robin Thicke – you are on the comeback trail.
The somewhat-disgraced singer seems to be cooling it with the gimmicky pop that made him infamous and going back to the R&B that first made him famous (and kinda sexy) with the release of a new down-tempo sort of ditty, “Morning Sun.”
Talk about a return to form, something the needed to do post-Paula (and Paula Patton).
Although there is still some work to do now. No guy should refer to himself as “papi.”
That’s still an ew move, dude.

Like Robin Thicke, Then Maybe Love Him Again?
Robin Thicke just did his first smart thing, musically speaking, in a bit and a half: He’s gone back to being a featured artist.
That’s an effective way to let us forget about his terrible 2014 and re-ingratiate us to his voice, which can be sweet and sexy and fun.
The Thickester’s one two artists (the other is Earth, Wind & Fire bassist Verdine White) joining Flo Rida on – Potential Song of Summer Alert! – “I Don’t Like It, I Love It,” which is part of the latter’s upcoming EP My House.
Watchu think?

Gave It 2 Them
Robin Thicke and Paula Patton are officially done.
Done, as in divorced.
The couple, separated since February 2014, was granted a divorce yesterday, about five months after the actress – who has a potential new ABC show in the works – first filed for one.

Thicke and Patton have an almost-5-year-old son together. Their divorce will be official middle of next month.
On a somewhat-related note, Marvin Gaye’s estate has filed a motion against T.I. They want him held liable, too, of the copyright infringement surrounding “Blurred Lines” that Thicke and Pharrell were found guilty of earlier this month.

Got to Pay It Up
They men behind the Song of Summer 2013 have to pay it up.
After a contentious trial that lasted a good year, a judge has ruled that Robin Thicke and Pharrell (and T.I.?) have to pony up more than $7 million and send that jack to Marvin Gaye’s family after a jury of their peers decided that, yeah, “Blurred Lines” is a bit of a rip-off of Gaye’s 1977 song “Got to Give It Up.”
The Thickster, for his part, has stayed mum on the verdict (so far), but Pharrell has put out a statement that says in part that while the musical multi-hyphenate respects the judicial process, he feels the ruling, “sets a horrible precedent for music and creativity going forward.”
OK. I don’t know the details of the trial, but now that the verdict’s come in, I guess the thing to say is so is lifting things from other people.

For the record, I didn’t really hear the similarities between the songs two years ago, and I don’t think I do now. Alas, the people have spoken.

Update: Robin Thicke and Pharrell are going to appeal this verdict. Something about rayon and silk.

Divorce After Love
Looks like Robin Thicke couldn’t get her back, after all.
Paula Patton has filed for divorce.
The actress, separated from the Thickster since February, went and got the paperwork started in L.A. this week.
The high school sweethearts have a son together, 4-year-old Julian Fuego. P2 cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for her petition, and is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their kid.

Get It Together, Thicke
It must be said: Robin Thicke’s totally exploiting his marital separation.
And it is not sexy. Or romantic. Or smart.
I mean, it was one thing when he went on the Billboard Music Awards last month to “Get Her Back” – the her in question being his estranged wife, actress Paula Patton. That was a chump move, singing about how you want your woman back on live TV when no one has even filed for divorce.
But we could roll with it, right?
Now, though, the Thickster has decided to name his upcoming follow-up to Blurred Lines (his smash hit 2013 album)...drumroll please...Paula!
Mmm hmmm.
And no. This is not reading as better him than anyone else. It is just coming off as you gotta do what you gotta do – yeah, to sell records.
Ew move.

The Thickster Will Do What He’s Gotta Do
Finally caught Robin Thicke’s televised come-back-to-me plea to his estranged wife, actress Paula Patton, from last Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards.
The song’s called “Get Her Back” and is a mid-tempo ballad that’s fairly classic Thicke.
Except this one’s about a love that is gone, not a love that is still here and all sexy and stuff.
Hope he gets the (radio) play he’s hoping for.

Separate Lines
The “Blurred Lines” maestro is going solo.
Sad but true: Robin Thicke and his actress-wife Paula Patton are going their separate ways after eight years of marriage, telling People magazine today that although they “will always love each other and be best friends,” this is the way the cookie is crumbling right now.
No word on whether any party has filed for divorce yet. The high school sweethearts (if memory serves) were married eight years ago.
Now, to ask the obvious: Was it the twerking that broke the relationship? You know somebody with more readers than me is gonna ask the question, make the Miley suggestion.
Anyway, Thicke and Patton are parents to 3-year-old Julian Fuego.
So wish ’em all the best. Especially because if he gets to hang on to half the inspiration that she provided during their time together, he will continue to make nice music (and I’m talking, of course, about the kind of melodies he dropped on us before his smash hit of the summer that was…).

Update: Boy, did I call it or what?

A Return to Thicke Form
“Blurred Lines” douche up Robin Thicke for ya?
Well then, listen to “Feel Good,” the latest single of the Thickester’s smash hit Blurred Lines album.
It. Is. Such a return to form.
Way more R&B-y than what the guy has been putting down.
Feels good, sounds good, indeed.

The Thickster and Macklemore’s Early Grammy Ticket
The 2014 Grammy Awards nominations special is gonna blur lines and be all about thrift-shop fashion.
I say that because both Robin Thicke and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will be among the acts performing on the LL Cool J-hosted special that will air on CBS on Dec. 6.
Mark my words: “Mirrors” will be among the Record of the Year nominees.

And the Song of Summer 2013 Is...
C’mon – as if you really gotta ask on this first day of fall.
It’s Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” featuring T.I. and Pharrell. Video, Marvin Gaye, and VMAs controversies be darned.
Like, duh.

#HittingIt
Robin Thicke’s hitting the road.
The singer has announced that he is kicking off a headlining tour in New Mexico tomorrow. He, along Jessie J and DJ Cassidy, will play three dates before the year is up, and resume blurring the lines across North America and Europe in the new year.
Too bad the Thickster’s not coming to South America, or headed for South Florida (from the looks of it as of right now).

The Thickster Loves It
The BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge has done it again, and I think my head could explode a little right now.
One my favorite performers ever has taken one of my favorite songs of this summer and totally re-invented it for our enjoyment.
I’m talking about Robin Thicke and his cover of Icona Pop’s “I Love It (I Don’t Care),” which, yeah, I am loving.
I like it when the Thickster takes it down a notch, too, not just when he titillates.

Ooh, Ya Nasty, Robin Thicke
That Robin Thicke is a giver – and he won’t let ya forget it.
So here comes the second single off his upcoming album Blurred Lines (look for it at the end of the month), “Give It 2 U,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, which, yeah, is totally about his d---.
Hey, we were warned with his controversial video for “Blurred Lines” – he has a big one, so it makes sense that he’d sing about it. Check it:
Now...can someone get around to mashing up the Thickester’s latest with Madonna’s “Give It 2 Me,” please?

Like It #Thicke
You think Justin Timberlake’s got soul? Try Robin Thicke.
Long behind me – thank goodness! – are the days of thinking of the Thickster as Timberlake 2.0 ’cause the guy has been doing his own funky thing for years, with me hearting him every step of the way. I saw him perform a few times in Miami and even met him and his wife Paula Patton at some event in Bal Harbour once, which almost made me melt he was so hot.
Such a crush on him, and such a love affair with his music.
Which he’s bringing back via his still-untitled sixth studio album, the first single off which is the licious “Blurred Lines” featuring T.I. and Pharrell, who, btw, thinks Thicke should sing the next James Bond thing. I agree.
“Blurred Lines” is the f---in’ hotness. Check out the video (if anything so you can see Thicke eat an ice cream cone and let your mind wonder...and wander – oof!), and make sure to download the song when it becomes available digitally on March 26.

The Silver Screen Gets Thicke
Movie theaters everywhere just might melt.
Robin Thicke is the latest singer doing the multi-hyphenate thing now that he has signed on to co-star in the indie Abby in the Summer.
The project revolves around an adrenaline junkie played by Jaime Pressly who, after having to leave the chef world, has to deal with a mindless husband and old love who comes back into her life. Thicke is gon’ play that man.
Rather sexily, I bet.

The Thicke of a Duet
Robin Thicke’s coming to TV.
Robin Thicke’s coming to TV.Make some room, Jennifer Lopez; set aside, Adam Levine – the Thickster (along with Kelly Clarkson, Lionel Richie, and Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles) is set to serve as a mentor and singing partner in Duets, a new competition series that will air on ABC this summer.
Each pro will travel the country searching for two mentees, and when the cookie crumbles, only one pair will stand, with the amateur winning a recording contract on Hollywood Records.
Sounds good to me.
I mean, anything that brings Thicke to the forefront for a change....

Busted!
Robin Thicke, your cred is officially cranked up to high.
Robin Thicke, your cred is officially cranked up to high.Say wha?
Yeah, the Thickster got busted today in New York City. The guy was spotted by police that saw him a working a joint inside his parked SUV, so they took him in on a minor drug charge. He was given a desk appearance ticket and released, but not before – get this! – the cops asked for a few pics and autographs (or so I read somewhere).
Loves it.

Update: Btw, how much are we loving Thicke’s tribute to Whitney Houston by way of his cover of “Exhale (Shoop, Shoop)”?
I am a lot.

Update: The Thickster has tweet-announced that his next album, Love After War, will drop on Dec. 6, just in time to make your holidays extra-sexy.
Loves it.
