She keeps on tryin’.
Emily Ratajkowski has landed another part. I know. Meow much?
The model-cum-actress is going to share the screen with Natalie Dormer (The Forest) and Deadpool’s Ed Skrein in a new project by the title of In Darkness. Dormer reportedly co-wrote the script with the movie’s helmer, Anthony Byrne.
The Game of Thrones player will star in the psychological revenge thriller, as a blind musician who comes into too-close contact with the underbelly of London after she hears a murder in the flat upstairs.
Ratajkowski will play the plum role of the unstable daughter of Dormer’s main foe.

Beautiful Cruiser
We all know that We Are Your Friends was a bust – although I wouldn’t say we all know why. After all, the Zac Efron vehicle bombed hard at the box office last month.
That will not deter Efron’s co-star, Emily Ratajkowski, though. The model-cum-actress is gonna try, try again.
Girlfriend has landed the female lead opposite fellow up-and-comer Spencer Boldman (21 Jump Street) in Cruise, the story of a lover of racing and women (Boldman) and the shy adventure-seeker who wins his heart in 1987 New York City.
Bet they stylize the s--- outta this project.

Re-taking Hollywood
You did it, Hollywood! You have now given us two real-bad summer movies in a row. And given us yet another example of why you should leave well enough alone.
Con-f---in’-grats!
Four years after the finale of the comedy series upon which it is based aired on HBO, the long-awaited – yeah, if like, this were three years ago – Entourage movie is here, ready to not impress.
Harsh, I know, but it must be said that Entourage’s comeback ain’t all that good or fun. The movie’s not terrible like Aloha was terrible (btw, thanks, I guess, Cameron Crowe, for apologizing for casting Emma Stone as an Asian-American – now WTF is the sorry for delivering such a hot mess?). I mean, at least this offering makes, y’ know, sense. However, unlike, say the first Sex and the City movie (a proposition similarly fueled by insta-nostalgia), this TV-to-big screen endeavor fails to live up to expectations. It just doesn’t cut it – ’cause it didn’t bring it, plot-wise.
The story’s more of the same from the Queens boy-turned-It Boy who made it huge and his scrappy crew of best buds 4ever:
Trust, the fantasy-life elements that made the show so entertaining for a good chunk of its Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated eight-season run – including the cool cars (like one the two Cadillac Ciel prototypes that exist on Earth); the unlimited access to fun (the movie opens on a yacht cruising the waters of Miami doubling as those of Ibiza) and hot chicks (just about every scene features some PYT entering or exiting the frame in an effortless shimmy); and the starry cameos galore – are there.
Now, though, in the Kardashian Age, in a time in which the #RichKids have made this commonplace, those things aren’t as, um, aspirational (?) anymore, and they definitely don’t transport us to Vinnie’s world the same way they once did. The fantasy comes from imagining a world in which a cameoing Jessica Alba has enough clout to threaten to walk away from a major blockbuster franchise lest her “passion project” gets a green light, right there on the very spot, in the middle of a studio lot, as she throws a mini-tantrum during one of several look-who-we-got-to-cameo montages in the movie. What was once fun to do – peak at a Hollywood up-and-comer’s life on a weekly basis – is a bore as a 104-minute production.
Which brings me to Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven).
Piven won a Golden Globe and three Emmys for his gonzo performance as the hellish, most effective talent agent in town, and it was awesome to watch tear into anything and anyone that got on the way of his glory. As one of the anchors of a movie, Ari can grate som’in’ fierce, no matter how much writer-director Doug Ellin, who also created and steered the show, tries to humanize him. Ari’s a studio head now, and the story hinges on the high stakes of his giving into Vince’s desire that he direct his next starring vehicle (a set-in-a-futuristic-L.A. take on Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde simply titled Hyde). Serious money people – Texans, no less – with real clout are at Ari’s neck (hey, Billy Bob Thornton and – what?! – Haley Joel Osment...?), and yet, he is the only one fretting about it.
Golden-boy Vince, we’ve come to find out, will shine in the end no matter what, and that makes Entourage an empty investment at the box office, no matter how many Emily Ratajkowskis they throw at us.
The Entourage movie looks pretty, but its charisma does not translate to the multiplex. You’ll be better off On Demanding it when the time comes.
My Rating **

Almost Famous
So the upcoming Zac Efron vehicle We Are Your Friends was clearly designed to showcase the actor and his leading lady, Emily Ratajkowski (Gone Girl), in the best, most impossibly sexy, cool light, huh.
Efron plays a party promoter/DJ on the brink of getting the heck out of the Valley – you know...the Valley – and into the big leagues by making it in the L.A. EDM scene after meeting and older DJ (Wes Bentley) who becomes his mentor.
The drama comes from the fact that Ratajkowski is playing the latter’s gf, and she and Efron clearly hit it off som’in’ special.
Check out the movie’s trailer now.
We Are Your Friends opens on Aug. 28.

The Entourage Is Coming (Back)
Mmm...so what do we know about the upcoming Entourage movie...?
So far, that Kate Upton may have a part in it.
That powers that be thought it fit to shoot some scenes in Miami last summer (a big yacht party sequence).
And that it’s coming out next summer (surely they’re gonna do some reshoots to include the recent Sony drama, right – to keep things fresh...somewhat topical?).
Now, though, thanks to the first teaser trailer, we know that Vince (Adrian Grenier) & Co. and Ari (Jeremy Piven) will be having words over the ballooning budget of Vince’s latest production...and that the party hasn’t stopped for our favorite entourage since the HBO show upon which the movie is based went off the air three years ago.
Oh, and that there will be cameos. Lots and lots of cameos. As usual.
Calvin Harris and Billy Bob Thornton will be there. Ditto Gone Girl’s Emily Ratajkowski. And Haley Joel Osment. And Entourage executive producer Mark Wahlberg (he produced the movie as well).
Entourage, the movie, will be in theaters on June 5.

Friendly Girl
That hotness Emily Ratajkowski is totally taking that acting thing seriously.
Not only is she about to steal some scenes in Gone Girl, she’s about to get it on with Zac Efron.
Ratajkowski has joined the cast of Efron’s next starring vehicle, We Are Your Friends, an EDM world-set coming-of-age story about a promising young DJ who meets a damaged older DJ for whose gf the next best thing falls.
A nice little yarn about love, loyalty, and destiny spins outta that little sitch, natch.
Max Joseph, from MTV’s Catfish, will pop his directing cherry with the project.

The Other Woman
Alright. I did not realize Emily Ratajkowski was playing Andie in Gone Girl.
OK, back up, back up.
I did not know Ratajkowski was “the hottest bitch” in the notorious Robin Thicke “Blurred Lines” video.
#notherdemo.
Anyway, Ratajkowski is playing Andie, and, evidently, the way GQ tells is it in its profile of the girl it has anointed the Bombshell of Summer, girlfriend is more than just a pretty face.
For one, she obviously passed the Fincher test.
And, for two, she seems to be actually pretty smart.
Good for her.
