He’s a Keeper

Joe Alwyn is about to take Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, but the up-and-comer is already looking far beyond the Nov. 11 release of Ang Lees new cutting-edge film.

Bf has working with Gerard Butler to look forward to now.

Indeed, Alwyn is set to co-star opposite the Scot who’s always saving the administration in Keepers.

A psychological thriller, the project will revolve around three lighthouse keepers on a remote island off the Scottish coast. Trainspotting’s Peter Mullan also is on board, and the story will be inspired by a true unsolved local mystery.

So you know that something bad is gonna happen.

A Halftime to Remember

Awards season can start now (and some of the technical awards can be earmarked, too).

Why?

Because here, at last, is the first teaser for Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.

Starring newcomer Joe Alwyn, the film – which the two-time Academy Award-winning director shot in unprecedented 120 frames per second in 4K and native 3-D – will unfold during a Thanksgiving Day football game and spin the yarn of how a few minutes of firefight in Iraq transformed the lives of eight men and how that event led to Alwyn’s titular walk at the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium.

Country Strong’s Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart, Steve Martin, Chris Tucker, and Vin Diesel co-star. Check out the preview now:

And remain aware of him, for Ang Lee is going to make him happen.

That’s right. The Brokeback Mountain director is working on his follow-up to Life of Pi, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, an adaptation of the Ben Fountain novel about how a few minutes of firefight in Iraq transformed the lives of eight men and how that event led to the titular character’s titular walk at the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium.

Garrett Hedlund may also join the project, FYI.
