Alan Cumming will not be part of the forthcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.
Kodi Smit-McPhee will be, though.
The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes actor has been tapped to play the younger version of the teleporting mutant Nightcrawler, Cumming’s character in X2: X-Men United.
So, yeah...I guess Cumming is a bit long in the tooth for these new take-place-in-the-past stories....
On a related note, Rose Byrne will rejoin the Bryan Singer-led franchise by reprising her X-Men: First Class Moira MacTaggert character in the 2016 threequel to the prequel-sequel-movie-with-the-mequel.
