Looks like the singer-songwriter’s star power wasn’t enough to keep his Last Ship afloat, after all, which is why the Broadway musical – inspired by his experiences growing up in the shipbuilding industry of Wallsend, Tyne and Wear (he wrote the music and lyrics) – will close on Jan. 24.
