The Whiplash actor (he played a rival drummer of Miles Teller’s character’s...) has been cast in this untitled Tom Hanks-led Cold War thriller that Steven Spielberg’s working on these days.
The film, which is based on a true story, will feature Hanks as an American lawyer who agrees to help the CIA rescue a Lockheed U-2 pilot who was detained in the Soviet Union and caused the U-2 incident of 1960.
Stowell will portray said pilot, Francis Gary Powers.
The Stud-well, btw, is currently working on another Spielberg project: a period drama for TNT titled Public Morals that Edward Burns is headlining.
