Going Nice

Methinks that Matt Bomer has the right idea.

Last month, the actor was assumed a sure thing at the Emmys for his supporting turn on HBO’s The Normal Heart, right. Except – everyone was reminded of what they say about assuming, and the Emmy went to Martin Freeman for his work on the third outing of the PBS cult hit Sherlock.

So how do you show ’em up if you’re a surprise-denied TV-movie star?

By delivering a surprise of your own and announcing that you are making a real movie (you know what I mean...) next. With Ryan Gosling, no less.

Boom.

Indeed, Bomer has signed on to join the DILF of the Year and Russell Crowe in The Nice Guys.

To be directed by Shane Black (Iron Man 3), the 1970s-set film will feature RyGos as a detective hired by a gangster (a role to be played by Crowe now; he was previously said to set to be portraying another detective) to find a missing girl, thus uncovering a dangerous conspiracy. Enter the character that the White Collar hottie has been tapped to take.

Mmm...Gosling and Bomer together on screen. Loins – and multiplexes – are gonna melt.
