Zendaya Is That Somebody

Last week, it was Whitney Houston who got the biopic treatment (Yaya DaCosta is gonna play the late singer on a Lifetime Angela Bassett-helmed biopic).

This week, it’s Aaliyah’s turn to go down that route.

Disney triple threat Zendaya reportedly will play the gone-far-too-soon star (the “One In a Million” “Are You That Somebody” singer died in a plane crash at age 22 in the summer of 2001, right when she was on the brink of superstardom) on Aaliyah: Princess of R&B, a new made-for-TV movie, also for Lifetime.

Got it, Lifetime – ya feeling melancholy.
