Lindsay to Do London

Madonna did it, and now so is Lindsay Lohan.

Nah, I’m not talking about being a superstar with enduring power. Im talking about exercising the role of Karen in David Mamet’s satirical play Speed-the-Plow.

Guess L2 really wants to remind us that she is, indeed, an actress, after all, for she is planning – right now...at this time – to hit the boards of London’s West End in November.

Doing Mamet, which I have never understood to be easy.

Speed-the-Plow sure doesn’t sound like it is (I am not an actor – maybe it is a walk in the park). But, I mean, the play is basically three long scenes about Hollywood execs who dream of making it big in the industry and how they weigh making money vs. making actually good, worthwhile art.

The material is beyond-rich in dialogue. We talkin rapid-fire talk, talk, talking. And, evidently, Linds may need a certain level of guile to perform a part that often has been criticized for being too simple and, perhaps, more than a little bit objectified.

Ah, La Lohan will be fine.

Like, push come to shove she can always cite mercury poisoning or whatever and quit the show.
