Betcha Rebel Wilson succeeds where Jessica Simpson did not.

See, Wilson is circling a redo of Goldie Hawn’s Private Benjamin.

In this new version of the 1980 comedy classic, the star of TV’s Super Fun Night (is that show gonna see a second season next fall or what?) would play a redneck who – along with a rich city girl – enlists in the Marines as a means to escape their doldrum lives.

But there are so many easier ways to do that!

Just don’t nobody tell ’er. It’s funner for us this way.
