Shia on Broadway

Up next in Shia LaBeouf’s career overhaul is...a little theater?

Yup, the actor – who has broken up with big blockbusters (for now), done some music-video nudityand begun work in Lars von Trier’s forthcoming Nymphomaniac – is set to make his Broadway debut with a production of Lyle Kessler’s Orphans, opposite Alec Baldwin.

This is the story of a young, orphaned thief (LaBeouf) who lives with his mentally damaged younger brother (a role yet to be cast) and who kidnaps a wealthy older man (Baldwin), finding in him the father figure he never had.

Now, that’s a complicated dynamic....

Orphans, which is also headed to the Great White Way for the first time, will begin previews middle of March for an April 7 opening.
