Touched By an Angel

Patrick Wilson is coming to TV.

One of the biggest gripes I’ve developed with Hollywood during the last decade is it hasn’t made the Tony-, Emmy-, and Golden Globe-nominated actor a big ol’ star. Sure, it’s showcased him handsomely in movies like Hard Candy and Little Children (which also featured quite a bit of his body), but it has yet to find him a vehicle worthy of his everything.

But now that’s about to change.

Wilson is set to play the lead in a CBS drama pilot written by Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich) that Jonathan Demme will direct, playing an ultra-competitive surgeon whose life is changed forever when his ex-wife dies…and begins teaching him what life is all about from the great beyond.

I gotta say I would prefer the guy did cable (so we can see his tush and be all edgy with the cussing), but hey, beggars can’t be choosers.
