It was announced yesterday that the new Spider-Man movie – the one helmed by (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb – will be titled The Amazing Spider-Man, a tip of the hat to the 1963 comic book that launched the Marvel superhero.

Herewith is the first official photo of Andrew Garfield as the webslinger.

The sure-to-be blockbuster is scheduled to dazzle audiences on July 3, 2012.
