The New Spidey Actually Is...a Brit?

The role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man will now be played by Andrew Garfield.

I guess the (rather strong) Josh Hutcherson rumor was nothing but, huh.

Garfield, who will be seen later this year in The Social Network and is the male star of the upcoming Never Let Me Go, has been tapped to star in a reboot of the franchise, to be set in high school and directed by Marc Webb.

The Brit had better have a spot-on American accent because he is so going to have his work cut out for him winning over the audience this side of the pond.

So now the question is: Who will play Mary Jane Watson?
