The Greatest One, Meryl Streep, is going to play Margaret Thatcher for Phyllida Lloyd, her Mamma Mia! director.Jim Broadbent (Moulin Rouge!) would play the former British prime minister’s husband.
Set in 1982, the movie will follow Thatcher as she tries to save her career in the 17 days preceding the Falklands War, a turning point for her tenure. After the victory, she saw her approval ratings double and went on to win a second term.
Streep as another powerful woman…. Five dollars she rides in the back of a car in this one, too.
