Got Milk

EW.com has an exclusive first look at a scene from Gus Van Sant’s upcoming Milk, a biopic starring Sean Penn as Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man ever to be elected to office in a major U.S. city.

The film follows Milk as he rises in 1977 from community activist to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

“[Sean] is playing a guy who’s not at all like him, way beyond the sexuality of the character,” says producer Dan Jinks. “Harvey was this guy who wanted everybody to love him, and he loved everybody. Sean just completely became that guy. It’s a real transformation.”

Milk, co-starring Emile Hirsch (Speed Racer), James Franco, Josh Brolin, and Diego Luna, is due out in the fall.
