Never Sing Never, Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is a hit-writing machine, and I am not ashamed to say I like her.

There – I admitted it.

Like, how do you not enjoy this wundergal of country-pop, y' know. Sure, her surprise face whenever she wins anything, which is often, is beyond-ridikolously aggro, and every once in a while she should try crafting a song dealing with someone other than love or heartbreak.

But, hey, if ain't broke....

She knows how to butter her bread, and she's sticking to it.

Case in point: Her new single, the Max Martin-produced We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” the video for which you can watch here.

Genius, huh.
See y'all on the road, singing along with me.

Check Out Liz & Dick

But do we have a premiere date yet?

That's the Q I have for the powers that be at Lifetime regarding Liz & Dick, their upcoming Elizabeth Taylor biopic, starring Lindsay Lohan and Grant Bowler as Richard Burton.

The answer remains TBA, but we can all have a moment looking at three new pics from the production featuring L2 in a few key Liz looks.

Can't wait to see this...situation.

Jennie and Luke...W-O-R-K-I-N-G Together

It's a reunion long-awaited by fans of Beverly Hills, 90210: that of Jennie Garth and Luke Perry.

Mind you, contrary to the word on the street, the erstwhile Kelly and Dylan are not dating, but they are working on developing a sitcom.

OK, good – because if that guy belongs with anyone thats with Brenda.

Boxing Bomer

Goodness gracious, I have got to catch up with USA Network's White Collar – the powers that be have their star Matt Bomer stepping into a boxing ring for a bout.

They obviously saw Magic Mike, and they want to bank on the actor's stunning physique.

I mean to I want to bank on it a lot.

Done with Balls

Andy Roddick is giving up tennis.

You read that right – the tennis ace has announced that he is hanging up his racket after the U.S. Open and will only play for fun, not professionally, from now on.

“This is going to be my last tournament,” the 30-year-old athlete said. “I don't know if I'm healthy enough or committed enough to continue another year.”

Ah, dude...you look A-OK. And I'm sure you have a few more years in ya. But you know best.

Just admit you wanna spend more time with your wife Brooklyn Decker, man.

Cowboying Up

Michael Fassbender in chaps.

Now that's an image.

The actor is negotiating a part opposite Natalie Portman in Jane Got a Gun, a western about a woman forced to defend her home after a bunch of outlaws come a-knockin’ and lookin’ to kill her barely alive husband.

The Fass would play a former lover Portman
s character reluctantly calls upon for help.

S---, I’d call to find out what time it is every 20 minutes....

Well, That Must Suck for You, Rachel Weisz

Cry me river, Rachel Weisz – you're gorge and talented, you have an Oscar, you're married to Daniel Craig.

So you got left out of a film. Big whoop.

I keed, I keed....

Here's the thing: The raven-haired beauty showed up for work on Terrence Malick'To the Wonder and did so dutifully, right. But the notoriously fickle director ended up cutting her part altogether, so Weisz will not light up the silver screen opposite Ben Affleck, Olga Kurylenko, and Rachel McAdams, all of whom did make his final cut. Who knows why. (This isn't the first time Malick has made such a radical decision – just ask Viggo Mortensen and Gary Oldman, two of his Thin Red Line stars.)

Still, though, the actress has nothing but nice things to say about working with the guy.

“I had the experience of working with him, but I will not have the pleasure of seeing my work,” she said.

Boo hoo, girl – neither will we. Why don't you go throw yourself into the arms of Mr. Craig.

I keed, I keed....

The Trucker

That little sex bomb known as Evan Rachel Wood (I think girl is hella H-O-T) is looking to the open road for her next role.

The young'un is eyeing the starring role in Michael Polish's 18 Wheel Butterfly, a road movie with a Thelma & Louise vibe in which she would play a trucker who flees from the law, as well as assorted bounty hunters and truckers, after she is falsely accused of a crime.

Sounds gritty and good.

Directing at Last

Hey, girls (and guys): Ryan Gosling is going to make his debut as a director soon.

For realsies now.

The Gos is going to write and direct How to Catch a Monster, which will star his Drive co-star Christina Hendricks (you know...the buxom redhead from AMC's Mad Men) as a single mother swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenaged son discovers a secret road to an underwater town.

OK, huh?

Anyway, fine, Ry. Just don't stay behind the scenes for too long now, y' hear.

Push It, Shove It with No Doubt

I am really, really happy that No Doubt are back, because of my own nostalgia and because I think they have a vital musicianship that is most needed nowadays.

But – yes, but... – I cannot help but wonder if, perhaps, Gwen & Co. have forgotten how to write a good chorus.

Settle Down” is fine and all, but, try as I might, I just cant get hooked on it. Their latest single, Push and Shove” (also the name of their comeback album), is more of that.

Som'in' tells me No Doubt's new record's gonna do better on re-release with a couple of guest stars....

Kickin' It with the Queen

Madonna's back in America, bitches.

The Queen of Pop kicked off the North American leg of her massively successful “MDNA Tour” in Philadelphia last night like, a good two hours late, but full of energy. Click here for some pics.

I cannot wait for M to hit Miami.

And Yet...Everything

I can’t get enough of Florence + the Machine.

Florence Welch & Co. and Calvin Harris may been giving us Sweet Nothing” with their latest collaboration – but they are serving up everything.

Loves it.

Funny. Daniel Craig Gets Funny

Hallelujah, Daniel Craig is doing comedy.

Well, kinda sorta.

The artist o.k.a. James Bond is set to host the third installment of Saturday Night Live's 38th season this fall. His musical guest will be the band Muse.

Btw, SNL's Sept. 15 season premiere will be hosted by Set MacFarlane and will feature Frank Ocean, while Joseph Gordon-Levitt will man the second show back with musical guest Mumford & Sons.

Urgh, How Legally Boring

Lindsay Lohan legal dramas are so...yesterday.

But like new days, they keep a-comin.

Ish.

The latest involves an alleged burglary at the Hollywood Hills home of a longtime acquaintance of La Lohan’s earlier this month. Evidently, L2 was a guest there when several items went MIA.

L.A. detectives had presented a potential felony burglary case against the still-on-probation actress and two men who reportedly were at the house (one of them was her assistant), but prosecutors determined today there was no evidence and thus no case to move forward with any proceeding (at this time?).

The good Angeleno men in blue say will continue investigating once they wash the stench of sketch off their uniforms.

Oh, Linds....

Stepmom to Many

That little scene-stealer from The Avengers Cobie Smulders is next big thing, yo.

The actress, best known so far for her role on TV’s How I Met Your Mother, is thisclose to getting the female lead in Vince Vaughn’s new comedy Starbuck.

The comedy, which has nothing to do with coffee, follows the hilarity that ensues when this guy learn that he’s fathered – get this – more than 500 kids as a sperm donor.

Smulders would play Vaughn’s oh-so-understanding gf unit.

Bell Goes Nympho

Jamie Bell is trading one type of dancing for another altogether different type of...dancing.

Yeah, the horizontal kind.
The erstwhile Billy Elliot has joined the cast of Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac, the director’s already-controversial – it will feature real sex by real actors! – follow-up to Melancholia starring Shia LaBeouf and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

The film will revolve around Gainsbourg’s Joe, a nympho who tells her story, from birth to her first sexual encounter to everything afterward.

One of 10?

Josh Holloway is following the action.

And I love him for it.

The Lost and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol star has his pretty green eyes on a part in Breacher, f.n.a. Ten, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam Worthington, and Joe Manganiello.

The action thriller follows 10 crooked DEA agents who start dying one by one after they go bad during a good opHolloway would play the member of the drug cartel the 10 go after.

Badg as Buck

Looks like Penn Badgley’s Jeff Buckley project is the first one outta the gate, Reeve Carney.

Behold the Gossip Girl star in character as the legendary singer-songwriter in Greetings from Tim Buckley, a biographical drama focusing on the icon’s famous performance at a tribute concert in honor of his father, Tim, in Brooklyn in 1991.

So this explains the hair, Dan....

Welcome to the Asylum

American Horror Story: Asylum, a.k.a. the second season of the FX anthology series led by Jessica Lange, is almost here, and here’s a little art to whet your appetite for all things scary.

I’ve seen a screen grab of the actress in character as a nun – I’m pretty sure she’s playing a nun – at the mental institution where the action will be set, so the image at right is all kinds of extra-spooky.

An artsy fartsy.

Joining Lange on the show this fall – American Horror Story: Asylum is set for an Oct. 17 premiere – is everyone in Hollywood.

Well...kinda. The new cast includes Zachary Quinto, Adam Levine, Chloë Sevigny, Joseph Fiennes, Chris Zylka, and Jenna Dewan-Tatum.

Mandy Making Music...with Hubby

Well this makes me smile: Mandy Moore is making music again.

And, to boot, shes recruited quite a talented songwriting partner to ease the process: her husband Ryan Adams.

“It felt like a no-brainer,” M2 recently said“I’m not trying to play a different role, but with him I get a different sound, a different way of writing, and I like that.

Whatever works, girlfriend. Whatever works.

Girl Will Be Back...Just Not Any Time Soon

If you are waiting for a follow-up to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, get comfortable.

Thats right – The Girl Who Played with Fire is still very much a go, but its also very much in the early stages of pre-production because screenwriter Steven Zaillian has not finished working on the script quite just yet.

Also, no director is in place to helm part deux, although David Fincher remains the first choice to lead Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig once again. Since he did such a cool job the first time out and all.

Hope they hop to it ASAP....

A Different Kind of Warrior

Newcomer Alexander Ludwig is still feeling the need for battle.

The young Hunger Games actor is joining Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Ben Foster, Emile Hirsch, and Eric Bana in Peter Berg’s Lone Survivor.

Ludwig will play a soldier on a covert mission in Afghanistan in 2005 that goes all kinds of wrong in the project based on the true story of Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell.

Not bad, not bad.... Climb that A-List, kid.
