Going Alien

Lady GaGa is ready for the big screen.

The entertainer is reportedly set to appear in the Men in Black threequel this summer.

Rumor has it Will Smith himself leaked the info by way of an overshare while in Brazil last week.

Eh.

Right?

G.P., Reese-y Piece-y, and Cam-Cam Could Walk Onto a Set...

Ryan Murphy has hit the blond trifecta.

The Glee man is developing a movie project titled One Hit Wonders that would bring together Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, and Cameron Diaz, for the first time, to play three flash-in-the-pan ’90s pop stars who decide to mount a comeback several years later.

O.

M.

G.

This sounds like it could be sooo much fun!

Paltrow’s BFF BeyoncĂ© and SNL MVP Andy Samberg are also attached to the movie.

Nothing is set in stone yet, though, as no one has signed on to do this officially, and there’s no finished script, either, but given that the three leads have been spotted hanging out lately, I’d guess they want this to happen, alright.

Hope it does.

Peter Weyland Introduces Himself

Today, video of a TED Talk from the future
from 2023, to be exact – hit the WWW.

The 3-minute video features Guy Pearce as Peter Weyland, going on about the technologies of the world, and how he would “like to change the world,” if we indulge him.

Check it out:

Of course, no such video traveled through time to the here and now, and Peter Weyland is no one but Pearce’s character in the upcoming Prometheus (Ridley Scott’s sort of prequel to Alien starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, and Charlize Theron, among others ( which makes this a piece of viral marketing of the most effective kind.

Time to brush up on my Alien lore....
A Leg Thought

Does anyone get the feeling that Angelina Jolie showing a heckuva lot of femur at the Oscars over the weekend was a big ol
’ f----you message to one Jennifer Aniston?

Or am I just reading a little too much into La Jolie’s now-infamous right leg, much like a tabloid would?

Mmm....

Not-So-Obvious Casting

Lucy Liu is getting Elementary.

The erstwhile Angel of Charlie and current star of TNTs Southland has scored the role of Watson on the modern-day take of the Sherlock Holmes property that CBS is developing for the fall.

Liu joins Jonny Lee Miller in the project.

A Good March for L2

Could Lindsay Lohan really be back on the straight and narrow?

Well, let’s see: Last week came the one-two-punch news that not only is L2 hosting SNL on March 3, she also got a glowing review from the judge overseeing her probation case (her probation is set to be lifted at the end of the month, barring any ill-advised last-minute shenanigans).

And, it was announced today that La Lohan will make her return to the Today show on March 1, to sit down with Matt Lauer, who, I bet, will not let her off the hook easy (hope the girl shows maturity in her taped interview).

Suddenly, NBC is feeling very Must Watch TV-y again.

Yo, Peacock – you better send the girl flowers. And keep an eye on her this weekend, OK?

Young Carrie

The CW is moving forward with its take on The Carrie Diaries, the Candace Bushnell-penned Sex and the City prequel that will definitely not star Sarah Jessica Parker & Co., since the show is set during Carrie
’s high school years in the ’80s.

And playing young, future shoe gal will be...AnnaSophia Robb (Soul Surfer).

Someone’s closet is about to get a lot more interesting....

So Hypnotic, So Erotic...So M

Madonna has given us all her luvin, and now the Queen of Pop wants us to remember she’s a “Girl Gone Wild” with the second single off her upcoming MDNA album.

The track has me all fired up like a smokin’ gun, alright.

I cannot wait for the tour, M!

Ex-Facking-Quisite!

Gwyneth Paltrow in that white Tom Ford gown-and-cape situation was the oh-so-right kinda of I-die fashion moment.

Like, can someone page a McDoctor...because I need CPR.

As I said on a friend’s Facebook Timeline, G.P. looked phenomenal. Vintage-y...modern. Crisp. Beyond!

The Return of the Speedman

Felicity fans will love this (I know because I sooo did): Scott Speedman is coming back to TV.

The erstwhile Ben Convington, who currently has a supporting part in the hit romance The Vow, has signed on to co-star in Last Resort, a promising pilot produced by Shawn Ryan (FX’s The Shield).

The Speedster will play a submarine office who inadvertently becomes a foreign citizen when his fellow subs declare themselves an independent nuclear nation.

This. Has. To go to series.

Right?

Meet the Governor

AMC’s hit zombie show The Walking Dead has found its Governor.

British actor David Morrissey is set to play the most famous villain ever to (dis)grace the comic upon which the show is based.

Morrissey will make his debut in the 16-episode third season of The Walking Dead, which, I presume, will debut some time in the fall, as usual.

Is This the New RoboCop?

If you’ve seen AMC’s The Killing, then you know who Joel Kinnaman is.

The scene-stealing Swede is being courted to star in the upcoming RoboCop remake that MGM is prepping.

Think the guy has what it takes it to step in for Peter Weller?

I think so.

I mean, if they make the character a broody badass, that is.

The Age of Kitsch Is Upon Us

The new Disney action-adventure movie John Carter is not enjoying the best word of mouth, sight unseen, but that doe
sn’t mean you should dog on its star, Taylor Kitsch.

I mean, not that you could.

This is (was?) supposed to be the Friday Night Lights alumnus’ big-time welcome into the Hollywood scene, y’ know. Now, the once-much-anticipated flick has turned into a cautionary tale for overtly ambitious studios in flux.

Here’s to hoping John Carter surprises everyone, though.

If it has an untapped strength, that’s the to-be-discovered appeal of the Kitsch.

Son of McClane

Bruce McClane is getting a son.

No, no – the actor and his model-wife are expecting a girl in real, if memory serves. I’m talking on screen.

We will be meeting Willis’ signature character John McClane’s estranged son in the upcoming A Good Day to Die Hard, which is set for a Valentine’s Day 2013 opening (last we saw him was in 2007s Live Free or Die Hard).

Playing the younger McClane will be Aussie newcomer Jai Courtney, whom some of ya may know from Starz’s Spartacus: Vengeance (here the HILF is with Willis during a recent screen test).

Not bad, huh. And not bad for the up-and-comer who also will be seen opposite Tom Cruise in One Shot.

Studio 8H Welcomes L2

Well, I guess when the chips are down you can always go home...if you happen to be Lindsay Lohan and that home is Studio 8H, the house of Saturday Night Live.

Yes, folks, La Lohan is set to host the show on March 3. Jack White will be the musical guest.

The gig will serve a good opportunity for Linds to promote her...uhh...I got nothing. Her new attitude toward her life?

She doesn’t have any project to plug, but a gig is a gig, and SNL has notoriously kept as mum as possible on all the girl’s problems over the years.

Perhaps Lorne Michaels can convince L2 to go back to red...or, at least, to add some strawberry into that dye. I am not feeling that beyond-bleached look.

Photo: NationalConfidential.com.

Update: Goodness, are pigs flying?

Linds got a good review from the judge overseeing her strict probation schedule on Feb. 22.

Has the girl finally turned over a new leaf?

Busted!

Robin Thicke, your cred is officially cranked up to high.

And that’s ’cause you’ve just gone and gotten yourself arrested for pot possession.

Say wha?

Yeah, the Thickster got busted today in New York City. The guy was spotted by police that saw him a working a joint inside his parked SUV, so they took him in on a minor drug charge. He was given a desk appearance ticket and released, but not before – get this! the cops asked for a few pics and autographs (or so I read somewhere).

Loves it.

Bet the Love After War,” crooner’s mugshot is totally sexual.

Update: Btw, how much are we loving Thicke’s tribute to Whitney Houston by way of his cover of “Exhale (Shoop, Shoop)”?

I am a lot.
At and For Once

I
’ve got to make it to New York this spring.

The preview videos Entertainment Weekly had of Once on its site earlier this week have lit a fire under me. I must, must, must go to there.

Previews of the show begin Feb. 28 for a big ol’ Broadway opening on March 18.
